Dear Mr. Fluegelhorne:

I must insist that the novel Pride and Prejudice was written by Jane Austen and not, as you recently asserted in the Times Literary Supplement, by Huckleberry Hound. If it does not please you to take this on my authority, I can refer you to any of several respected reference works -- including Encyclopedia Brittanica; Who's Who In Jane Austen (in which all the characters in Pride and Prejudice appear); Kelly's Blue Book of Automobile Values; Old Mr. Boston's Bartending Guide; and Harlow's Eastern Twig Finder (pocket ed.). There is also a full chapter refuting theories of Huckleberry Hound's authorship of any Austen works in the Oxford Companion to English and American Literature.

It is my hope that I may now have corrected any lingering confusion on this point.

Most cordially,

Yogi Bear
