The 1997 Gold Outing at Spring Valley Park
York, Pennsylvania

If you were at The Gold Outing at Spring Valley Park at York, Pennsylvania, you probably met this young lady in the gold shirt, she is a park instructor, and was very helpful, in teaching young and old what to look for in your pan and how to process it.  I remember her telling the man above about the "Black Sand" and how the gold came to be in the park. It was said there was over 150 people who attended the Gold Outing

There's Gold in that pan!  What can one say, look for yourself, these people are enjoying themselves at the Gold Outing that was held at Spring Valley Park, at York, Pa.  If you find yourself in one of these pictures, please e-mail us and tell us who you are and we will be glad to insert your name,  also tell us about your gold finds,  every person I bumped into did go home with some gold, even the seven year olds had no problems getting the gold.

Let's all give a big thanks to the man, with the "Red Hat" on  Mr. Jeri Jones,  Please check on our web site about the Geologist,  Mr. Jones is the York County Geologist and director,  He's the guy who makes all of this  possible, to happen at Spring Valley Park.  Jeri, keep up the good work.  If one attends a Gold outing what is noticeable, this is a hobby that is shared from age 7 to age 70 both young and old.

This insert is placed, so you can print this out in color or black and white, it will take two sheets of paper to print out all the pictures and articles that are here.

If one did not know that this was happening in Pennsylvania, one would think is this California?  Will it's Pennsylvania,  and it's not to hard to find that "Gold" in that creek,  the bed rock is composed of volcanic rock and also alot of quartz was noticed.  If your on vacation this is one place to keep in mind.  Several chapters of the GPAA did show up and some exchange on information took place on were Gold was being found in the state of Pennsylvania.

It seems, when one goes out to take pictures at a Gold Outing, one always ends up taking pictures of the wrong side of a person, well their usually busy, bent over or sitting going after the Gold.  Here in this picture, one does not have to use words,  "Family"  try that with any other sport or hobby.  Good Luck and keep watching for more pictures.  Many have stated they will e-mail them to me.
